My Cavachons are a first generation hybrid cross between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Bichon Frise. It is thought that this F1 cross promotes "hybrid vigor" resulting in healthier and heartier crosses.
Cavachons are typically low to non-shedding. They usually do well with allergy suffers...but if anyone in your family is VERY allergic to dogs I will leave that up to you to decide if this is a choice for you! A Cavachons coat does grow long...therefore requiring some grooming to keep it from matting. Most folks opt to keep their Cavachons short. They tend to have hair (rather than fur) and the coat itself is light soft and fluffy. Oh, so perfect for snugglin!
This lil cross gets the best of both worlds. They tend to have the happy, energetic, comical, spirit of the Bichon yet the mellow laid back sweet ways of the Cavalier. They are extremely friendly towards strangers, children and other pets, as both breeds are.
This is Happy our 4yr old Bichon female. She weighs 12# and is average sized for a Bichon.
This is Happy's current Cavachon litter. Born Jan 4th. Aladdin is the sire to this litter and can be viewed on my home page.
These are the girls. Smaller one on the left...taller one on the right.
Below is the boys.
The females are pictured on the top left. Male is on the bottom with the other boy on the top right.
